Dear GTDB Team,
I just wanted to ask if you could add the novel genus and species Dentiradicibacter hellwigii to the database. It has just recently been validly published in IJSEM: Dentiradicibacter hellwigii gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from a secondary infected root canal in the human oral cavity | Microbiology Society
It would also be great to be able to compare the genome data in the FastANI calculator
Best wishes,
Sibylle
Hi Sibylle,
Thank you for notifying us about the publication of your newly described species and genus!
Unfortunately, we are unable to include these names in our current release, as it was finalized and released in April. However, we will ensure that the names are incorporated into our upcoming release in 2026. Please note that the genome from the type strain is already part of the database.
You can certainly compare your genome with others using our FastANI calculator online.
Best wishes,
Masha
Hi Masha,
thank you very much for your fast reply.
In fact, I could find D. hellwigii genome in the database :-). Unfortunately I was not able to use in the FastANI calculator as it says: “10:08:43
No comparisons could be made as one or more genomes were not found in the database.”
Can you help me with that? That would be great!
Best wishes,
Sibylle
Hi Sibylle,
What genomes are you trying to compare? If they are not part of the database, you won’t be able to use our FastANI calculator. Can you provide the accessions?
Thanks,
Masha
Hi Masha,
I put [GCA_041770905.1] as query sequence and [GCF_900099695.1] and [GCF_900460955.1] as reference genomes.
Best wishes,
Sibylle
Looks like there is an issue with the FastANI tool on our website!
I am going to report this to our dev team and hopefully this can be resolved shortly. I’ll keep you updated and many thanks for making us aware of the issue!
best wishes,
Masha

I am afraid that we won’t be able to fix this immediately because Pierre and Donovan are currently on holidays. Hope that you can find an alternative solution while we are fixing this.
Thank you for understanding!
Masha
Dear Masha,
Thanks for notifying me. I am sure I will find some other solution or will try it later here again
