Hello,
I would like to report my accidental finding. I noticed that the recent releases contain a monotypic genus g_Phytobacter_A. However, as the sole species s_Phytobacter_A massiliensis has another name as Metakosakonia massiliensis (Lagier et al. 2014) Alnajar and Gupta 2017 (the type species of Metakosakonia Alnajar and Gupta 2017), I guess a genus placeholder is superfluous. Simply referring to the genus as Metakodakonia should work.
Thank you!
Best wishes,
Meng-Syun
Hi Meng-Syun,
Thanks for reporting this!
You are absolutely correct, and this genus was split in the recent release, thus necessitating the creation of Phytobacter_A. However, the previous name, Phytobacter, remains valid, but as you correctly pointed out, we can (and will, in the next release) apply the genus name Metakosakonia, since we see it as a separate genus.
Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to report any other issues. We are always grateful for any kind of feedback, it helps us serve the community better.
Best wishes,
Masha
