Spelling of cyanobacterial names

Hello,

May I ask if the name spelling of cyanobacterial taxa in the GTDB follows the tradition of the ICNP? or ICNafp instead by means of Rule 8?

I noted that the GTDB now has Vampirovibrionia instead of Vampirovibrionophyceae corrig. This case happens to be an example newly added to the 2025 revision.

As bacteriologists, we follow the ICNP. However, thanks for flagging this as I see that LPSN now flags Vampirovibrionia as an illegitimate name despite being validly published under the ICNP - Class: Vampirovibrionia. We will discuss this amongst the team.
