I would like to confirm whether the names in each GTDB taxonomy field are guaranteed to be unique and distinct in the hierarchy. For example, is it possible to have two families with the same name that are in different phyla?
Another way of asking this question is whether each taxonomic rank is a unique key, or whether a composite key is required that covers multiple ranks.
I believe it is the former, but would like to make sure!
